What's happening in 2026

TIME TO TALK DAY - Mental health

Thursday 5th February is Time to Talk day - were encouraging everyone to have a conversation about mental health.  Although there has been progress talking about Mental health, people still find it difficult - help reduce the stigma it can help others feel less alone

Arts and Craft therapy

The group asked to try some new crafts and showing off their talents painting glass work, beautiful.  Also the Knit and Chatt group are making some lovely items sharing their skills and helping each other. improving their mental health and wellbeing, confidence and English skills

Driving Theory sessions

There has been a number of requests for language support to understand the driving theory.  Starting at Anfield Community Sports centre on the 5th February, Join the group ask questions learn the highway code, improve your English and understanding to work towards taking your theory test 

Training

We are running multiple training sessions for the communities including a 6 week course for community champions and interpreters to gain knowledge and further understanding of working with the police, medical settings and social care with professionals running the sessions to explain terminology and their services, to help interpreters to be able to understand and correctly explain.

this is one of many sessions we will be running  - please contact for further information 

Women's Group

The ladies have asked for a number of new activities to support their Mental health and wellbeing,  women's health talks around both mental and physical health.  Healthy eating classes,  Conversational practical English , a few requests for Zumba or Bollycise to continue with lighter exercise sessions with Nu , training and social all to improve mental health, reduce social isolation and be part of their community 

Men's Group

Excited to start the New year with the Mens group running sessions they have asked to cover this year including Mens mental health talks, Conversational Practical English groups along with Digital skills and starting wih the younger group Physical activities at Anfield Community Sports centre each Thursday - contact for times or to book 

Mental health and wellbeing Craft therapy

We have restarted the Art therapy group which has proven very popular, providing a safe space for people to express their emotions that they may find difficult to put into words.  this is especially important for individuals from culturally diverse and marginalised communities who may not feel comfortable accessing traditional talking therapies - it helps reduce social isolation and helps people feel connected.

New Mental health and wellbeing Apprentice

Halima has been an active volunteer since the start and has now enrolled to complete her L3 health and Social care as a Mental health and wellbeing apprentice.  She is a valuable member of the team providing language support, lived and shared experience .Good Luck Halima and thanks for being part of the team :)

Knit and chatt

Thanks to localsolutions for funding to run the knit and chatt group for the ladies , they asked for a peer group to have chair based exercise,  arts and craft therapy to promote their mental wellbeing and iicrease physical activity.  New project includes glass art which had proven very therapeutic and shown off their talents.   The knitting and chatt is very popular work people learning new skills.

We have some very talented ladies and is great to see them coming and meeting new people
